Investigation: Former president Trump is being investigated for alleged efforts and conspiracy linked to events related to January 6th 2021. 

The four criminal charges he is facing are:

  1. Conspiracy to defraud the United States 
  2. Conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding 
  3. Obstruction of an attempt to obstruct an official proceeding 
  4. Conspiracy against rights

Date of indictment: August 1st 2023

Plea: Former president Trump pleaded not guilty. 

Evidence:

  • On January 6th, 2021, a group of Trump supporters unlawfully entered the U.S. capital after the 2020 presidential election results.
