Meet Your Librarians: Josh Brunck

Hey Koalas!

Did you know the role of a librarian is to walk alongside you to ensure that you have access to the information you so desire? But, the thing is, as students it is our job to meet them in the middle to tell them our needs and wants. That is where Josh Brunck, our Collection Development Librarian, comes in. Part of his job is to accumulate resources that reflect the needs of our community and to reflect the student body. These resources could include trending books, award winning movies, or scholarly texts. Some resources are selected for the community's enjoyment, while others support academic endeavors. His role at the library also includes cataloguing, which is inputting the new books into the system and getting them ready to hit the shelves. If you want to see the newest additions to the collection, feel free to browse the shelf on the back wall directly across from the main entrance or see a few listed on the library homepage!

Filling the library with what you want is not possible without you (students and professors alike) being open about what you look for in the library collection. Even though Josh Bruck does a wonderful job staying educated on the trends and striving for diversity, he cannot read minds! If you are interested in suggesting a purchase, all you have to do is send an email to refdesk@columbiasc.edu and include the Title, Author/Director/Creator, Publish/Producer, ISBN/ISSN.

The library and librarians are here for your benefit. Never be afraid to reach out with questions or suggestions!
