Educational Technology for Students: Support Resources for Online Students

Working late at night or over the weekend and running into technical issues? Here are some support pages and links to help!


Course Help:

  • Canvas: Go to your Canvas course and look for the "Help" menu on the side navigation.

    We have a specific number for Columbia College that can be found there. You can also ask for help via chat! This service is available 24/7.

Textbooks:

If you have issues with your books not loading on either Kortext or RedShelf, first contact the bookstore at bookstore@columbiasc.edu or 1-803-786-3886. Note that the bookstore hours are not 24/7.

If your books are connected but you are having issues with the e-readers, you can contact Kortext and VitalSource below:

Integrated Textbooks/Course Activities:

You may have activities in your textbook that require you to use tools like MindTap, MyLab, or otherwise. While we can't provide as much support for this "third-party" tools—tools on platforms outside of Canvas—the companies often offer support that you can use.

  • Cengage: Cengage can help with MindTap issues. There is no number listed, but you can log in via your Cengage account to create a support ticket on their support page.
  • McGraw Hill: McGraw Hill can help with McGraw Hill Connect and SIMnet. Their support page provides you options for which platform, then by student or faculty. There is a direct support link at the bottom of the page as well.
  • Pearson: Pearson can help with MyLab issues. Their support numbers is 1-833-585-1828 (note that this is not 24/7). You can also contact support via chat on their support page.
  • Science Interactive: Science Interactive can help with SI Lab. Their student support page answers common questions and leads to a support link.

Proctoring/Taking Tests:

  • YuJa: YuJa can help with issues regarding their media recorder or YuJa Verity, the proctoring software. Their 24/7 support number is 1-888-257-2278.
