Resource Sharing: PASCAL Delivers

An informational guide on resource sharing methods like InterLibrary Loan and PASCAL Delivers.

Pascal Delivers provides Increased Access

Strategic Goal 1: Enhance, preserve, and provide universal access to print and electronic information resources to member libraries.

No one library is able to house all of the material that users need. To help remedy this, our consortium agrees to share collections and supply materials to each other on demand. Though each library has full control over the requestability and requestable format of items in their collection, a mix of print and digital items are available to users at all times.

Because of this agreement:

  • Users have access to materials in collections outside of that housed at their home institution, free of charge
  • In addition to lendable print material, users have access to digital versions of items that may otherwise be restricted to library-use-only or unavailable for purchase as an e-book
  • Access to material is not lost in the event of an unexpected disruption to an institution’s academic calendar, such as a natural disaster or COVID-19 resurgence. (Pascal, 2022)
