FAMILIES FAQS

When should students begin working with Career Services? Students should start meeting with us early in the first year to establish a plan for expanding their understanding of career choices, developing an initial resume, and creating a plan for future success.

Why do they need a resume so soon? Many employers expect students to submit a resume when they apply for part-time and summer employment. It is also important to create an initial resume that you can add to at the end of each semester or year to capture your experiences and accomplishments as you progress through your academic program.

Where do students go to look for a job? Handshake is the job search tool that connects students with employers, part-time jobs, internships, and career opportunities. Career Fairs and Career Services workshops are also posted in Handshake.
