Misusing Google Translate and other translation software programs, which uses artificial intelligence, can be a form of plagiarism. Students in world language or writing courses sometimes write their papers in their native languages and then put their work into Google Translate. This also is plagiarism because the wording in the translation was created by Google Translate, and it is not the original work of the student.
