Research Badge: FAQ

Everything you need to know about CC's research badge.

What is a badge?

A badge is a micro-credential that says you have certain skills or competencies. Badges are digital, so you can display them on LinkedIn or your social media accounts. Columbia College's badges are all grounded in leadership skills. Read more about Columbia College's badge program in the PostScript.

Why should I earn a badge?

Earning badges is a great way to show your future employers the skills that you cultivated while at Columbia College.

What do I have to do to earn the Research Badge?

Every badge has four components:
✔ Learning
✔ Assessment
✔ Application
✔ Reflection
For the Research Badge, you'll complete everything online! There are video lessons with short activities or quizzes in Canvas. You'll apply the skills that you learn by researching a female leader and editing their Wikipedia page. Finally, you'll return to Canvas to write a short reflection. Best of all, you can go at your own pace!
