Finding Children's Books

Use this tab to identify children's books that help with various speech challenges. All books are located in the Children's Collection on the Lower Level.   

Children's Books at Edens Library

We can't list all the books we have related to specific sounds. However, they can be easily searched for in the catalog on the library's homepage. ​Simply go to Advanced Search in our online catalog, enter a keyword (see below for examples), and limit the Shelving Location to “Juvenile.”

  • Initial, medial, & final "s" clusters: snow, snakes, stars, space, sneeze, sleep, spiders...
  • Initial & final "k": cookies, caps, clowns, cars, cows...
  • Initial & final "g": gorillas, goodnight, goose, gate, giggle...
  • Initial "sh": sharks, shoes, sheep ships, sharing...
  • Initial, medial & final "th": thump, thought, through, tooth...
  • Initial "ch": chickens, checkers, cheese...
  • Initial and medial "s": dinosaurs
  • Final "s" and "z" (possessives, plurals, and other words): Any book that has the word “What’s” or “Where’s” in it
